A retreat in South India to give ourselves over to the care and regeneration of body and mind, accompanied by the Ayurvedic tradition.

I feel more and more how important it is to create time and space in our lives to be in a place of listening and conscious presence, one that allows us to touch dimensions of ourselves that so often become harder to reach amid the demands and tasks we keep answering day after day.

On this Ayurveda retreat, we will have the chance to give ourselves over to the care and regeneration of body and mind, letting ourselves be accompanied by an ancient wisdom that invites us to slow down and find a more natural rhythm again.

Throughout these days there will be time to rest, receive the treatments offered, meditate and listen more attentively to what is present within us.

I invite you to share this experience with me, in a time wholly devoted to care and presence.

The Madukkakuzhy Centres

The programme takes place at the Madukkakuzhy Ayurveda Centres in Kerala. The centres belong to a family with around 200 years of connection to Ayurveda and nine generations of physicians. Most of the medicines are made in the traditional way in the family pharmacy, which can be visited.

Programme

  1. 012 SeptemberDeparture from Lisbon to Cochin, with a stopover
  2. 023 SeptemberArrival in Cochin and transfer to the Madukkakuzhy Homestay. Welcome, initial consultation and start of treatments
  3. 033 to 11 SeptemberFour nights at the Homestay and four nights at Lake & Mountains, with consultations, treatments, Yoga and time to rest
  4. 0411 SeptemberTransfer to Cochin airport and return to Lisbon

Arrival in Lisbon may be on the morning of the following day, depending on flight times.

The daily routine

  • Ayurvedic consultation and daily medical follow-up
  • Two external treatments a day, and internal treatments when prescribed
  • Vegetarian Ayurvedic food
  • Yoga and walks, on alternate days
  • Time to rest
  • Visit to the traditional pharmacy and, when possible, cooking demonstrations and talks
  • Visit to a social responsibility institution

Once the group is confirmed, Macro Viagens will propose flights so that everyone travels together from Lisbon.

Conditions

  • Minimum group of 10 participants
  • Accommodation in a shared room, twin or double
  • Single room: supplement of €350, subject to availability
  • Payment of €1,590 in full, or a €490 deposit and four instalments of €275
