Between pilgrimage and retreat, twelve days through places where practice remains alive, sustained by centuries of presence.
Over twelve days, this journey alternates between pilgrimage and retreat in places where contemplative practice is still part of daily life. There will be time to visit, walk, meditate and slow down.
In Namobuddha we will spend several days in retreat, in a mountain setting connected to the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. The rest of the journey brings us close to monasteries, places of pilgrimage and different ways of life in the Kathmandu Valley.
The journey
- A retreat of several days in Namobuddha, with practice, visits to the monastery, walks in nature and contact with local villages
- A stay in Boudhanath, with visits to the stupa and monasteries, to the meditation caves at Pharping and to the Hindu temple of Pashupatinath
- A visit to Patan, a historic city where architecture and spiritual tradition meet in everyday life, with visits to temples and a meal in a family home
- A walk in a nature park, with a visit to a monastery and lunch with the nuns, in a setting of practice and simplicity
- A visit to Swayambhunath, one of the oldest and most symbolic complexes in Nepal, overlooking the Kathmandu Valley, and to the monastery of Mingyur Rinpoche
- Free time for personal exploration and for integrating the experience
- Continuous accompaniment throughout the whole journey
